フレキシブルな楽器編成のオーケストラのために作曲されたものを、ジャック・スタンプがフレキシブルな吹奏楽のために作り直した。「Pervicacity（パーヴィカシー）」という単語は頑固という意味で、この疾走感あふれる作品全体を通して繰り返される3連符の動機にそれが強調されている。
